part 28

(continuing from iku and Anna talking about rooftop pools)

3 weeks go by, iku’s birthday is in a couple of days, she’s going to be 23. She gets a text from Anna, asking her to come over to discuss “something”.

iku arrives at her place and welcomes herself in.

Anna: (“Ah nice, you’re fast.”)

iku: (“Whachu’ got for me?“)

Anna: (“You my dear, will go on that train in a couple days, well, on your birthday. Sorry about that.”)

iku: (“It’s fine, you know I don’t make a big deal about that.“)

Anna: (“Well, I’ll still try to do something to make it up for you, siddown.”)

iku sits down infront of the whiteboard.

Anna: (“Right so, the train, it will depart from a different city at 5 am and will arrive here at 7 am, so you need to get on that train from that city, there will be three guys that are supposed to carry a briefcase around with them, it’s a silver colored one. It was supposed to be one tough guy but apparently he has some stomach thing.”)

iku: (“What? Stomach thing? Are you for real?“)

Anna: (sighs “Yup, real mature people. These three dudes shouldn’t give you a tough time, they’re inexperienced.“)

Anna: (“So just find them, deal with them, take the case, get off. Pretty easy as far as it goes. I’m not saying things can’t turn difficult it’s just I don’t really see a way it would go wrong.”)

iku: (“Doesn’t seem like a high profile job though. I could’ve gotten one of my guys to do this instead.“)

Anna: (“No, the intel in the case is way too sensitive. I only trust you with it.”)

iku: (“Ah okay.”)

(…)

Said couple days go by and iku is at the station, waiting for the trains arrival.

She gets a call from Anna.

Anna: (“Hey, They know you’re coming.”)

iku: (“Really? And I just got to know this?“)

Anna: (“Hey hey they just found out, so, even I got caught off guard. They’ll be trying to hide somewhere or blend in, remember, silver briefcase.”)

iku: (“Yeah i know.“)

Anna hangs up.

The train arrives and iku gets on, there’s a couple carriages, it has a decent amount of people on it. She starts going down the carriages to look for the silver briefcases, as she walks she checks the luggage compartments between the carriages and looks up and down in the passenger area to see if someone is trying to hide it.

She reaches a carriage that has bathroom stalls, big circular stalls with sliding doors, there are 6 of those in there. Figuring that she must’ve missed it she starts making her way back just to make sure.

Suddenly she hears a voice from one of the stalls:

???: (“Shit! I forgot to bring my charger.”)

????: (“Shhh!! Would you shut the fuck up? Do you know who’s after us?”)

???: (“So are you going to let me on your phone?”)

????: (“Fuck no.”)

iku doesn’t dare to make a sound.

???: (“Then let me out, i left my charger in my bag, it’s below the seat we we’re in.”)

????: (“What if she’s already on the fucking train you idiot?”)

???: (“No way, and still, she doesn’t know what we look like.”)

?????: (“Just go get your stupid fucking charger, hurry.“)

The stall door opens, iku and the three guys in the stall just stare.

iku starts walking towards them, they start to run.

1st Guy: (“FUCK, GET YOUR STUPID ASS ON!! RUN!!“)

2nd Guy trips and falls, and the 1st Guy is reaching for him to help. The 3rd Guy keeps running and shoves something in the door so it can’t be opened.

The other two guys make it to the door just to realize that they were betrayed and trapped with iku.

They back up into the corner shaking with fear as iku closes in on them.
