part 18

(continuing from iku and A having a catch up talk.)

a couple months go by and it’s a new year, iku’s birthday is in a month. things are quiet on iku’s side, the hotel started doing better during the holiday season and that pool was a good idea, bring a lot of money in, a new set of hires came in. All is generally well. iku’s birthday comes and goes, she gets a message from A but iku doesn’t make a big deal out of it, doesn’t really want people want to know the date.

Eventually A shows up at reception.

Receptionist: (“Ah, it’s you, want me to call down the boss?“)

A: (“Yes please.”)

iku’s room phone rings.

iku: (“Yeah?“)

Receptionist: (“There’s someone here to see you ma’am.”)

iku: (“Be there in a sec.”)

iku gets down to the reception.

A: (“Ah there you are! C’mere, lemme give you a hug!“)

A starts walking towards iku to give her a hug, but she suddenly stops.

A: (“Ah, uh. Never mind, a handshake will do.”)

iku: (“Sure, whatever.”)

iku shakes A’s hand while trying to hold back her laughter.

A: (“Hey come on, you’re being mean!!”)

iku: (“I’m sorry I’m sorry, just the look on your face when you realized. Ah you should’ve seen your face.“)

A: (“Yeah yeah yeah uh huh sure. Come on, we need to do some shopping.”)

iku: (“Wait, what do you mean?“)

A: (“Just come.”)

iku: (“Wait, let’s go by car, I just got the car of my dreams!“)

A: (“Alright then.”)

iku walks A to the back exit where the parking lot is.

iku: (“There she is.”)

iku points at a black car (ok so, like, it’s a black 2006 subaru impreza wrx (with a spoiler ofc) (and remember the 5 year tech shift), with angel eye headlights (will send u images) with yellow under lights). Obviously she loves this car, there’s a big smile on her face.

A: (“Yeah it looks nice, Your first big purchase for yourself?”)

iku: (“Yea.“)

They get in.

iku: (“Ahh I love this car so so so much!!! Just listen to it.“)

She starts the engine.

iku: (“Listen to that baby roar!“)

She revs the engine a little.

iku: (“Ah fuck I love this car.“)

A: (“Well I’m glad you’re happy, We’re going to the strip mall not far from here.”)

iku: (“Aight’.“)

They get to the strip mall, and A takes iku into an electronics store.

A: (“Alright, pick a phone, I’ll pay for it.”)

iku: (“What’s wrong with my current one?“)

A: (“It’s a couple years behind, and I need you to upgrade.”)

iku picks out an iphone like phone.

iku: (“Hey this ones nice, is it good for what you need?“)

A: (“Yup. That’ll be nice.“)

They buy the phone, and iku and A go back to the hotel.

A: (“I need you to set this phone up and then give it to me, I’ll give it back in a couple days.”)

iku sets up her new phone, and gives it to A.

A: (“Oh right, and your shades.”)

iku: (“Why do you need it?“)

A: (“I need to look up the manufacturer, get a couple more.”)

iku: (“Oh okay.“)

A: (“I had fun today, I’ll be seeing you soon.”)

iku: (“Ah okay. Bye!”)

iku later goes down to the bar to get a couple drinks, ofc she doesn’t have her shades on so everyone is on edge, including the new hires, if she’s on edge or not. No one dares talk to her that night.

She goes to bed a bit bummed out.
