part 19

(continuing from iku and A shopping)

iku gets awoken by a knock on her door.

iku: (morning voice “Who… What… What is it?“)

A: (“It’s me. Can I come in?”)

iku: (“Hold on.. I need to get dressed..“)

A: (“Take your time.”)

iku stumbles around her room trying to find clothes she can get on quickly, luckily her usual comfy fit; a white tshirt and some dolphin shorts, she doesn’t put on a bra tough.

iku: (“Aight’ you can come in.“)

A enters her room.

A: (“Morning sleepyhead, I got you your stuff back.”)

iku is in the bathroom putting her contacts in.

A: (“I don’t know how you do it. The contacts, they freak me out.”)

iku: (“Lucky for me I’m not skittish, and I’m willing to do a lot for my style.”)

iku puts the last contact in.

iku: (“See, I’m done with it already. Seriously 2 seconds out of my day to look more scary is worth it.”)

iku: (“Anyways, what do you have for me again?“)

A: (“Your phone, and sunglasses.“)

A puts the phone and 3 pairs of the shades iku wears.

A: (“I added my number to your phone.”)

iku unlocks her phone and checks the contacts, there’s only one, A. Although there’s no phone number in the contact page, only an ip address.

iku: (“There’s no number.“)

A: (“Yeah I know. It’s an address to one of my relays. That’s what I’ve been busy last year. There’s three of them so I can switch around to confuse people who try to snoop in on our communications. Oh right, you will need to kill those people.“)

A: (“Anyways look, when I call you your phone’s gonna go into a low power mode.“)

A starts ringing iku’s phone. The screen goes back, and slowly starts drawing a low quality phone ui.

A: (“Whenever I call you the phone’s gonna do that, I made it go low power that it can only make the call happen, so if your phone gets compromised they still won’t be able to listen into our calls.”)

iku: (“You’re sure prepared.“)

A: (“Well, it’s not like we’re gonna be making a whole lot of new friends anytime soon.“)

A: (“Anyways, for the more interesting thing; Your shades. The second I saw you with them I knew I had to do this. You always wear ‘em, so what if I can oversee what you’re doing with them.“)

A points at the top right corner of the frame.

A: (“Right there is a camera, and down the stem there’s a microphone. And there’s this little button that pairs it to your phone. Your phone will tell you when you need to charge it or anything else.“)

A: (“Although I wouldn’t worry about that, these suckers barely consume any power.”)

iku: (“So you can see everything I do?“)

A: (“Yeah.“)

A pulls out a thinkpad, turns it on and logs in. Meanwhile iku looks at the shades in her hands.

A: (“Look here.“)

A opens a program that connects to her phone and shows the feed of her shades.

A: (“I see and hear the same things that you do. So I can call out things as they happen and see what you’re up to.”)

iku: (“Shows trust.“)

A: (“Well I assume you know why I went out of my way to do this, and if not I am not explaining.”)

iku: (“Right right.. Say, how’d you get this done in one night?“)

A: (“The shades? I know a guy. And the rest is me, I know how to make software.”)

iku: (“The thinkpad kinda gave it away.“)

A: (“They’re great machines.”)

iku: (“Yeah and they’re used by neeeeeeeeeeerds.“)

A: (“Yeah yeah.“)

A: (“Anyways get dressed, we need to go out and test it.“)
