part 31

(continuing from iku hiring Lucas and Jake.)

A couple weeks go by, and iku sits around mostly doing nothing, she’s in some conversations about running drugs for a small time gang.

Anna invites iku to grab some food, it’s a fancy restaurant with a terrace. While they’re waiting for their order Anna is on tinder looking at men, she finds a muscular good looking guy, in his 30s. She shows him to iku.

Anna: (“What do you think?”)

iku: (“Huh?“)

Anna: (“He’s a nice looking guy, looks interesting, has nice hobbies, worth a shot?”)

iku: (“I mean… He’s okay.. I guess. I don’t know, he’s not my type.“)

Anna: (“Come on, don’t be like that.“)

Anna brings her phone back and swipes right on the man.

Anna: (“I mean, do you even know what your type is? You can’t be a lone wolf forever.”)

iku: (sighs “I know my type. It’s just yknow… I don’t get approached that much. I mean I do get approached, but like, only idiot jocks do, not the guys I want.“)

Anna: (“And what do you do to those idiot jocks?”)

iku: (“Beat them up.“)

Anna: (“… And why do you think the men you like don’t approach you?”)

iku leans down on the desk.

iku: (“I know… I know… But still, I want them to approach me.“)

Anna starts patting iku’s head.

Anna: (“I know honey, I know. But seriously, they’re afraid of you, they might admire you but they’ll never take the initiative, they’re not crazy. You’re gonna have to pick a guy you like, get to know him - like actual conversations not just looking up his socials. And figure out the rest as you go.”)

iku sits back up as she’s letting out a sad little noise.

Anna: (“Just try it.”)

iku: (“Ooookaaayyy..“)

Anna: (“I promise you, it’s gonna work a helluva’ lot better than whatever you were trying to do before.“)

Their food arrives and they spend the rest of the day hanging out, coming home iku decides she wants to have some drinks and maybe eavesdrop a little.

Well not a little, she eavesdrops on Adam’s table, he is not serving today.

Brian: (”(…) I mean she was fucking hot alright.“)

Liam: (“Bry, there’s not a single girl who you wouldn’t stick it into.“)

Brian: (“What can I say? I just like girls!“)

Adam: (“Sure you do.“)

Brian: (“Hey, what about you? Do you have a type?“)

Adam: (“Ah I never really gave it any thought.“)

Liam: (“Come on, that’s not an answer.“)

Adam: (“I don’t know man, I like tits, ass, I’m really simple.“)

Brian: (“Man you’re boring.“)

Adam: (“Looking at you, maybe that’s not a bad thing.“)

Brian: (“Ok Pretty Boy, what about her?“)

Adam: (“Boss?“)

Liam: (“Lower your fucking voice man, she has good hearing. And you both know what happened the last time anyone talked about her like that.“)

Adam: “under his breath” (“I mean she’s hot, we all agree on that, no fucking way I’ll approach her.“)

Liam: (“You’re lucky, she’s nice to you at least.”)

iku is saddened by the fact that Anna was right about guys being afraid of her. She wants to just hang with Adam and his friends so she gets up and walks towards the table they’re at.

iku: (“Sup, make me some space? Next to Pretty boy?“)

Kinda terrified since they just talked about her, they make space next to Adam.

She plops down next to Adam, close but not too close, just sitting.

iku: (“Y’all saw a ghost? Wassup? Why you guys are so silent?“)

Liam: (“Uh, We just were caught off guard by you.”)

iku: (“I mean I just wanted to chill out yknow, haven’t talked to you bunch in a while, how’s life treatin’ y’all?“)

As they talk with iku they ease up, not worrying about if iku heard them talk about her. Adam had a fun time too, iku has a certain type of charisma to her. :)
