(continuing from iku sitting down next to Adam and his friends.)

The next day, iku gets a call from Jake.

iku: (“Sup.“)

Jake: (“Yo, Boss man girl man, yo can we ask for a favor?”)

iku: (“Go on.“)

Jake: (“Are you like busy for the next month?”)

iku: (“I mean, my building permit got rejected, I need to redo that, and like probs my boss has a job lined up for me.“)

Jake: (“Cool, cool, awesome, sounds like a lot of work. Can you like, take care of Jimmy for the month?”)

iku: (“What? Fuck no!“)

Jake: (“Aw please? Like, we’re gonna be gone from tomorrow and we need someone to take care of him.”)

iku: (“Besides acting in the last second, why did you think I was a good fit? I’m terrible with kids.“)

Jake: (“Well, he knows you… somewhat. And uh yknow, I thought you’d be the best cause like, yknow like,”)

iku: (“No Jake, I don’t know like, what you like, mean like.“)

Jake: (“Cause like you’re a girl, and like girls have like maternal instincts.”)

iku: (“WHAT?!… hold on… WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?!“)

Jake: (“Hold on, don’t get mad, Lucas said you’d get mad.”)

iku: (“GEE I WONDER WHY.“)

Jake: (“Okay, but what if I give you a hundred bucks?”)

iku: (“Oh then sure.“)

Jake: (“Wait really?”)

iku: (“Yeah no, do you need me to come over to pick up his stuff or?“)

Jake: (“Nah I’ll bring his stuff over soon.”)

iku: (“‘Aight.”)

iku eats breakfast starts talking with her contractor about the denied permit, eventually Jake shows up. He’s carrying a couple bags.

Jake: (“Hey, I have more stuff with me, can you come down and help me?”)

iku: (“Money first.“)

Jake: (“Ah right.“)

Jake hands iku 5 $20 notes.

iku: (“Thank youu!”)

iku: (“Okay, where’s the stuff?“)

Jake: (“In the car, in the back parking lot.”)

iku: (“Let’s go then.“)

They bring all of Jimmy’s stuff into iku’s room, not a whole lot, game console, clothes, sanitary stuff, phone and etc.

iku: (“That’s everything?“)

Jake: (“Packed his swimwear too, just in case he wants go into one of the pools here.”)

iku: (“He likes pools?“)

Jake: (“A lot.”)

iku: (“Ha ha, that’s sweet. I don’t think I should go in the water with him tough.“)

Jake: (“Why’s that?”)

iku gestures at her body.

Jake: (“I don’t think you have to worry about that, he doesn’t notice stuff like that yet.”)

iku: (“Still.“)

Jake: (“Yeah I get it.”)

iku: (“Actually, this is the first time I hear you being serious, I think that’s nice.“)

Jake: (“Well, I can be as dumb as rocks, I want Jim to have a nice time in life you know.”)

iku: (“Yeah I feel you.“)

Jake: (“Anyways, I really gotta go, Lucas is waiting for me, you need to be at Jim’s school today at like 4pm ish, I’ll send you the address.“)

Jake reaches to shake iku’s hands and iku pulls him in a bit so she can pat his back.

iku: (“G’luck out there, with whatever you two are doing.“)

Jake: (“Thanks.“)

The day goes by and iku tells Anna that she’s going to take care of Jimmy, Anna is ecstatic at the news, she loves caring for kids.

iku arrives at the school, it’s 4:30pm, she enters.

Doorman: (“Oh hey ma’am.”)

iku: (“Hmm?“)

Doorman: (“You can’t really bring guns into the school, you know.”)

iku: (“Oh nah, don’t worry about it, say, you know what class this kid is in, his name is Jimmy, ‘an I am supposed to be caring for him for a month.“)

Doorman: (“Oh down the hall and to the left.”)

iku: (“Thanks man.“)

The Doorman shouts after her that guns aren’t allowed but she doesn’t give a shit. She gets to the classroom and Jimmy is happy too see iku while the teacher and everyone else is terrified of her. On the way out they make her sign a paper that says she’s the temp guardian of him. She pulls out fake id’s and picks one.
