part 35

Some time goes by, Anna decides to visit iku.

She knocks.

iku: (“Come in!“)

Anna lets herself in. iku and Jimmy are chilling on the couch playing games.

iku gets up and goes to hug her. Anna finds it strange since iku isn’t the type to get all huggy and sweet with people, they’re great friends for sure but iku rarely gives a hug to her.

Anna: (“Hey, hey, it’s great to see you too.“)

Anna pats iku’s back. After a while iku puts her back down.

iku: (“Yo Jimmy, this is A, my best friend. A, this is the kid I’ve told you about.“)

Jimmy: (“Hi Ms. A, you look cool!“)

Anna: (“Haha, thank you!! Aren’t you the cutest thing ever!!“)

Anna goes and pats Jimmy’s head.

iku: (“So what brings you around? Any business?“)

Anna: (“Nope, not really, I don’t have stuff to give for a while.”)

iku: (“Ah okay.“)

They sit down.

iku: (“Hey, we’ll continue the game later ok? Imma switch it back to tv.“)

Jimmy: (“That’s alright!”)

iku switches the tv to a local channel.

iku: (“Actually you two want something to drink?“)

Anna: (“Actually something fizzy wouldn’t be all that bad.”)

iku: (“All I have is grape flavored soda.“)

Anna: (“That’s fine with me.”)

iku: (“Jimmy, you want some?“)

Jimmy: (“Ye. :)”)

iku gets up to grab three glasses and the drink.

Anna: (“Some birdie told me you like sweets Jimmy, so I’ve got you a lollipop.“)

Anna pulls out a lollipop from her purse.

Jimmy: (“Awesome!!! Thank you!!“)

Anna let’s out a small sweet laugh. iku sits back down and pours the drink into the glasses.

iku: (“You just can’t resist being an auntie, can you?“)

Anna: (“Screw you, you like having him around too don’t you?”)

iku: (“Honestly, yeah!“)

A little time goes by and iku and Anna do some catching up, Jimmy leaves to go to the bathroom.

Anna: “whispering, hungarian” (“So how are things coming along with Adam?”)

iku: “whispering, hungarian” (“Ah you saw.“)

Anna: “whispering, hungarian” (“Only a little, I saw you putting your number in his phone and the chocolates. You can’t hide that from me, I can see it on you. You really are in love with him.“)

Veronika looks down at the floor with a smile on her face. Not saying a word, but she blushes a tiny bit.

Anna: “whispering, hungarian” (“You don’t know how happy I am for you.“)

Time goes by and the news starts airing. iku and Anna somewhat listen to it while talking and Jimmy is on his phone.

A news block about the new Eurozone square grabs their attention: The city’s mayor is under fire for having small time gangs harass people in the square after sundown, The mayor goes and explains that since local police forces aren’t capable of dealing with them properly that he will make sure to find a private contractor who can.

Anna: (“Pathetic. Never liked that guy.”)

iku: (“You think I have my next job?“)

Anna: (“Nah no way, he’s dumb but not enough to ruin his rep.”)

iku: (“$200 on him coming to me by next week.“)

Anna: (“That’s a dumb bet, I’m in.“)

They shake hands on it.

Jimmy: (“What are you two betting on?”)

iku: (“Ah it’s nothing interesting, boring adult stuff, you can switch it back to your game if you wanna.”)

iku gets an email, she checks it, it’s her pool plan getting rejected again.

iku: (“Goddamn it. Rejected again.”)

iku shows the message to Anna.

Anna: (“They’re running low on money, I can’t think of anything else.”)

iku: (“I don’t know, I don’t care, I just want my pools.”)

iku: (“Actually might have to buy a new bikini, you too.“)

Anna: (“I will.“)

Anna: (“But I’m not the one trying to impress someone.”)

iku: (“… Shut up.“)

Anna laughs.

Anna stays a little bit and then heads off, iku and Jimmy walk her out. Jimmy on the way back remarks that Anna’s nice.
